Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, case number, or other value entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its results. Norman County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send a message, it may be retained so a response can be provided. The message remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may receive routine technical information about the visit:
- IP address associated with the device
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Referring site, if one is provided
- Time and date of page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They can help measure page traffic, common paths through the resource, and technical performance. Analytics providers may aggregate that activity. Browser settings can block cookies, although some parts of the resource may function differently as a result.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used for the ordinary operation of the resource, including:
- Maintaining availability and page performance
- Sending a search query to the relevant partner service
- Understanding which information visitors use
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be interest-related
No Court-Record Data on File
Norman County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. Its content points to public record routes used by Norman County District Court, Court Administration, and Minnesota Court Records Online. The resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes are run by outside providers. Information entered into those tools is handled under each provider’s own privacy policy, retention practice, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Those practices are outside this resource’s control, so review the provider’s terms before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Minnesota Judicial Branch pages, Court Administration resources, MCRO, legal-aid information, and search services. Once a link takes you elsewhere, that destination’s privacy policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may collect activity across sites for interest-based advertising. That collection occurs through their own systems rather than through a court-record database maintained here.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be received by the following categories when needed for their services or when law requires disclosure:
- Search partners that process a query entered into their tool
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the resource
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. Internet-connected systems cannot be guaranteed free from every security incident, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact the organization so the issue can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
You may request a copy of information held about you, ask that inaccurate information be corrected, request deletion where applicable, or opt out of certain processing. Minnesota court-record access is separately governed by the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. § 13.03, and the Judicial Branch’s Rule 4 and Rule 8. Those public-access authorities govern Judicial Branch records, not this private resource’s visitor data.
- Ask for a copy of information held about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of applicable information
- Opt out of certain data processing where available
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date, so review it periodically when continued use matters to you.
